Microsoft is working on a new web browser that will be introduced in the upcoming Windows 10 as a default browser instead of the long-time regular Internet Explorer. Though the company may not completely remove Internet Explorer from the new operating system, reportedly to keep the compatibility with legacy applications and websites.Internet Explorer has been the default web browser in Windows since 1995.
According to a report at ZDNet, Microsoft is working on a lightweight web browser code named Spartan. The new browser will look a lot like Chrome and Firefox and will support extensions.The company may show the new browser at its planned January 21 event for Windows 10.

Modern UI apps on desktop: In Windows 9 Microsoft will allow users to run Modern UI apps in the desktop mode. In the desktop mode, these apps will also have re-sizable windows just like the normal applications. Currently, the Modern UI apps run in windows that can be re sized only horizontally. Vertical, they use the full screen. Cureently in Windows 8.1 user has basically two environment one of Apps and other of Desktop which is very much confusing.
Notification Center: Windows 9 is likely to have a notification center, similar to one found in tablets and smartphones. It will be accessible from the quick settings on the bottom right of the screen.
Virtual desktops: It looks like users will be able to create multiple “desktops” in Windows 9. This means, they will be able to set up a “desktop” for work, a “desktop” for home, a “desktop” for entertainment, and switch between these desktops like they switch between applications, without having to log out or restart the computer.

IRCTC apps for Windows 8 Desktop and Mobile Device

The new IRCTC App, developed in collaboration with Microsoft, is expected to enhance access to its existing e-ticket portal.This application can be download from Microsoft apps store For Desktop user manual click here . For Mobile user click here to download user manual.
The app has been made available exclusively for Windows devices. The users of Windows Phone, Windows 8 Desktop, Tablet, laptop can download this application free of cost as per their requirement from the Windows Phone Store and Windows Store respectively.
Using this new app one can plan a trip, make railway reservations, check the PNR status and perform all the tasks already available on the IRCTC website.
The booking using this apps will not be available between 8 am and 12 noon, and 11.30 pm and 12.30 am as per the existing guidelines.This restriction is also available on IRCTC Android apps

Microsoft says that users of other countries would get the preview version soon. Indian users will have to wait to benefit from the service integration
According to Microsoft to enable Skype for Outlook.com email, one has to download a plug-in for their web-browser – recent versions of Chrome, Firefox and IE are supported.Thereafter, users can use their MS account to connect Skype to their Outlook.com Inbox.
